Net Zero Fossil Fuels

The Fossil Fuel industry, both private and national, has arguably the greatest responsibility of any in the path to Net Zero by developing and scaling the technology required to take back the carbon emissions on which the industry bases its business.

Existing Efforts to achieve net zero in the Fossil Fuel Industry:

The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) has a set of guiding principles and commitments to help member companies contribute towards the ambitions of the Paris Agreement, however, only three members of the OGCI have yet committed to a net zero target with varying ambition as to the scope of emissions counted and none yet have published a net zero plan or capital expenditure projection that aligns with a net zero target that would meet the terms of the Paris Agreement.
